Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi goes global with its digital travel platform

Dubai: Etihad Airways of Abu Dhabi announced on Wednesday that it would expand “Verified To Fly” on the routes of its global network after the travel platform proved “extremely popular” with customers.

The platform, which allows travelers to validate their Covid-19 travel documents before arriving at the airport, is currently available for a large majority of Etihad flights.

“With paperwork out of the way, verified travelers benefit from a quick check-in at the airport through the dedicated Verified to Fly office for a faster and smoother experience,” Etihad said in a statement. “The first tests showed that Verified to Fly customers saw their check-in counter processing times almost halved and the average wait time for all customers reduced.

Etihad added that passengers using the program only share their data with the airline itself, without the involvement of third parties.

It “has proven to be extremely popular with our customers as they get a expedited airport check-in experience if they use Verified to Fly,” said John Wright, vice president of global airports. and network operations, Etihad Airways.

“We appreciate that this is a difficult time for travelers and this has been a key initiative in making travel as easy as possible for our customers,” said Wright.
