Esha Gupta Sets the Record Straight on Hardik Pandya Dating Rumors
Actress Esha Gupta recently clarified the nature of her past connection with Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya, putting an end to long-standing rumors of a romantic relationship. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gupta revealed that while they were in contact for a few months, their interaction never blossomed into a serious relationship.
Gupta explained that compatibility issues and timing prevented their connection from evolving further. She emphasized that their communication remained casual, never reaching the point of a formal dating relationship. "Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don't think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months," Gupta stated.
She further elaborated on the brief duration and limited extent of their meetings: "We were at that 'maybe it will happen, maybe it won't' stage. It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn't dating-dating. We met once or twice, that's it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended."
Gupta acknowledged the potential for a relationship, but admitted that circumstances led to a quick conclusion. "Maybe it could have happened," she said, adding that "things fizzled out quickly."
The actress stressed that their communication ended amicably, without any drama or bitterness. "There was no drama or bitterness," she stated. "It just wasn't meant to be."
Gupta also addressed Pandya's controversial appearance on Koffee With Karan in 2019, confirming that their communication had already ceased before the incident. "That part didn't affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then," she clarified. The actress further revealed that she chose not to add to the criticism surrounding Pandya at the time. "They were already going through enough. What good would it do if I jumped in with more criticism?" she explained.
Hardik Pandya is currently not participating in the Indian cricket team's Test tour of England. His next expected appearance for the Indian team is against Bangladesh in August.
