The speculation arose after Raducanu was seen supporting Alcaraz at his semi-final match during the HSBC Championships at Queen's Club. Their joint training sessions, including one just before Wimbledon 2025, further fueled the rumors, leading to direct questions at the press event.

When questioned about the nature of their relationship, Raducanu simply stated, "We're just good friends." As the reporter attempted to conclude the topic, Raducanu playfully added, "Way to wrap up," showcasing her wit.

We were both on court with Evian, just getting some volley practice ahead of New York. I'm really happy to be playing with him. Raducanu also revealed that it was Alcaraz who initiated the partnership. "Yes, he asked me. He asked me earlier on in the year, and I was very surprised, honoured, and excited," she explained, expressing her enthusiasm for the upcoming collaboration.
