Jofra Archer has been named in England's squad for the second Test match against India, marking his return to the Test arena. The match is part of the ongoing five-game series.
Archer, now 30 years old, is set to rejoin the Test team for the first time since February 2021. He could potentially add to his 13 Test caps when the second match begins at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 2.
The fast bowler recently participated in red-ball cricket for Sussex against Durham in the County Championship. His previous Test appearance for England was also against India in 2021. Since then, he has faced several injuries, including a back stress fracture, which sidelined him until his return to white-ball cricket in May of the previous year.
The rest of the England squad remains unchanged from the first Test in Leeds, where the hosts secured a five-wicket victory.
The remaining three Tests in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 series will be held at Lord's (July 10-14), Old Trafford in Manchester (July 23-27), and The Oval (July 31- August 4).
England Squad for 2nd Test:
Ben Stokes (C), Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes.
