Devi was born with phocomelia, a rare condition resulting in the absence of arms. Despite this, she has become an internationally recognized para-archer. At just 18, Sheetal Devi achieved a historic feat at the Paris Paralympics, scoring a record-breaking 703 out of 720. Surpassing the previous record of 698, she secured a bronze medal and became only the second armless athlete to win a Paralympic medal.
