The 14-year-old opener's fearless approach and powerful strokeplay were on full display as he hammered five sixes and three fours. His explosive start provided the impetus for India U19's successful run chase of 175.

Suryavanshi and captain Ayush Mhatre forged a rapid 71-run partnership in just 7.3 overs, setting a strong foundation for the chase. Just as he looked set to reach a well-deserved half-century, Suryavanshi was caught by Tazeem Chaudry Ali off Ralphie Albert in the eighth over. Mhatre departed soon after, scoring 21 off 30 deliveries.

Despite the loss of both openers, the target proved to be manageable for the Indian team. India U19 secured a convincing six-wicket victory with a significant 156 balls to spare. Wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu sealed the win with a six in the 24th over, remaining unbeaten on 45 off 34 balls.

Earlier, England U19 opted to bat first but were eventually bowled out for 174 in 42.2 overs. Rocky Flintoff, son of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, was the top scorer for the hosts, contributing a composed 56 off 90 balls, including three sixes and three boundaries.

The Indian bowlers exhibited impressive control and discipline throughout the innings. Kanishk Chouhan led the attack, claiming 3 wickets for 20 runs in his allotted 10 overs. Mohamed Enaan (2/37), RS Ambrish (2/24), and Henil Patel (2/41) provided valuable support, each taking two wickets to dismantle the England batting lineup.

Prior to the tour, Suryavanshi expressed his excitement, stating, “I will get a good experience of playing in England. We will try to win a trophy from there as well.”

His sensational debut suggests that Indian cricket might have discovered yet another promising talent for the future.
